But for many of us; grain, sugar and dairy foods are creating inflammation and contributing to an insidious disease process in our bodies and we are none the wiser. Doctors and researchers are telling us that this inflammation is linked to almost EVERY disease known to mankind and they are spelling it all out for us in their books, their clinical experience and in research studies, pointing out that many of our most SERIOUS and EXPENSIVE conditions can be traced back to our diet.
- Irritable bowel, Chron’s disease and Colitis and/or less serious gastrointestinal issues like bloating, indigestion and gas
- diabetes, both type I and II
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
- auto-immune conditions like MS and Rheumatoid Arthritis
- heart disease
- high blood pressure
- chronic infections
- joint aches and pains
Even neurological conditions like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease have been linked to inflammation from food compounds!
That’s why one of the first recommendations any functional medicine doctor, naturopathic doctor or holistic nutritionist will make, is to take grains, dairy and sugar out of your diet for a while. They know that regular consumption of these “staples” are often the root cause of whatever their patient or client is suffering with, or at the very least, they are contributing to the issue and preventing healing.
Maybe you’ve read some of the popular books like The Paleo Solution, The Primal Blueprint, Wheat Belly or Grain Brain and are curious to see if grains, dairy or sugar are the culprits in your nagging health issues or stubborn extra weight.
Or maybe your naturopath or nutritionist has asked you to follow this type of eating plan but you just can’t get yourself to do it consistently.
